Die Makita DJV 142 ist eine leichte Stichsäge mit geringer Geräuschentwicklung, einem bürstenloser Motor für mehr Ausdauer und erreicht dadurch eine längere Lebensdauer. Dank des kompakten Gehäuses wird eine exzellente Vibrationsdämpfung gegeben. Die Maschine verfügt über eine Grundplatte aus Aluminium-Druckguss die beidseitig um 45° schwenkbar ist, und eine 3-fach Pendelhubeinstellung plus Neutralstellung. Um beste Ergebnisse zu erzielen wurde die DJV 142 mit einer leuchtstarken LED ausgerüstet welche die Schnittstelle immer gut beleuchtet, und damit die dies sichtbar bleibt wird die Kühlluft zur schnittstelle weitergeleitet.
Durch den Schnellspanner vorne an der Maschine lässt sich ein werkzeugloser Sägeblattwechsel durchführen.
